Senior Lighter / Compositor
Lightcatcher is seeking a Senior Lighter / Compositor for our “Little Margo Stories” series. We are looking for an experienced artist with a strong artistic eye, excellent technical skills, and a sharp attention to detail. The ideal candidate is capable of owning the lighting and compositing work for multiple episodes while maintaining a high level of visual consistency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lighting and compositing work that consistently meets and exceeds the visual standards of the production.
- Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Maya and Nuke.
- Integrate CG characters seamlessly into painted backgrounds with strong attention to detail, atmosphere, and visual cohesion.
- Maintain and reinforce the established visual style of Little Margo Stories, ensuring each shot supports the artistic direction of the series.
- Organize scenes efficiently and contribute to streamlined workflows that improve collaboration and productivity within the lighting team.
- Ensure continuity across shots and sequences, maintaining consistency in mood, color, and visual storytelling.
- Proactively troubleshoot technical and artistic challenges, communicating solutions clearly and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the Lighting Supervisor and Art Director, contributing creative feedback and fostering a positive team environment.
- Help identify and address broader asset or pipeline issues to support the overall quality and efficiency of the production.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in feature animation or animated series production.
- Strong experience with Maya and Nuke.
- A strong artistic sense for lighting, color, composition, values, and compositing integration.
- Experience with stylized or cartoony visuals and an interest in animated storytelling.
- Ability to work efficiently within an established pipeline and under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of artistic direction and the ability to interpret and execute a director’s vision.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills.
Salary
- Salary Range: $1800- $2000CAD per week
