Lightcatcher is seeking a Pipeline TD for our “Little Margo Stories” series. The Pipeline TD will develop and maintain tools for the CG pipeline, with a focus on Maya and its integration.
Responsibilities
- Test and validate tools and techniques in production, working closely with the pipeline team on software releases.
- Act as a resource for show production staff for complex, urgent technical problems.
- Guide IT personnel in debugging technical issues.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of software and systems, contributing to evolving production standards and conventions.
- Identify and automate inefficient or redundant tasks
- Update documentation for the pipeline and tools to reflect changes.
- CG Generalist Skills: Proficiency in modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and rendering. Ability to work across multiple CG disciplines and software packages.
- Write effective, readable, and maintainable code
- Perform code maintenance and refactoring
- Strong understanding of the entire 3D production pipeline from a generalist perspective.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Maya and Python programming.
- Experience creating user interfaces with PyQt/PySide.
- Have experience and an interest in cartoony style.
- Experience with C++ is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Familiarity with Katana, Unreal, Houdini, and/or USD is a plus.
- Most desired: 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working on CG and VFX productions.
- Having a solid understanding of render farms and the Deadline software.
Salary
- Salary Range: $1900- $2300CAD per week
